Extricate...
extricate: to free or remove from an entanglement.
Extricate…
Pull apart pieces of our lives that have been
Intertwined
With each other for so long.
I’m sure my books will miss being in the shelf
Next to yours, and
My toothbrush is going to get awful
Lonely
Without yours being there to keep it
Company.
And then there are the CDs,
Shoes a jumble in the front closet,
You can have the new cookware,
I’ll take the old.
I can wear my ring on
The opposite hand because I
Really did like it to begin with.
Pull apart pieces of our lives that have been
Intertwined
With each other for so long.
I’m sure my books will miss being in the shelf
Next to yours, and
My toothbrush is going to get awful
Lonely
Without yours being there to keep it
Company.
And then there are the CDs,
Shoes a jumble in the front closet,
You can have the new cookware,
I’ll take the old.
I can wear my ring on
The opposite hand because I
Really did like it to begin with.
